100th Post: Handwriting and Favorite Posts of the Week

It feels like I just began this blog and wow, 100 posts later... If I had paid more attention, I would have made this blog post special. How? I don't know. See, that's why I need more time...

That said, recently I was tagged by someone... and if that someone remember who it was, please let me know because I've been searching through blog posts trying to find out. Anyway, I did it anyway in my cute little horse notebook - I love notebooks! (see below)

1. My name and my blog.
2. Am I left or right-handed? Right!
3. My favorite letters to write? This was difficult. How should I know? I picked the capital letter T and the little letter f.
 4. Letters I hate: B, D and little r.
5. Write: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Done!
6. Write in capital letters: CRAB, HUMOR, KALEIDOSCOPE, PAJAMAS, GAZILLION.
7. My favorite lyrics: I'm trying to erase you from my memory, cause thinking of you jumbles up my mind. I love you too much to ever start loving you, so lets just let the story kinda end.
8. Pass the handwriting tag on to seven: Well, I can think of seven that haven't got it so I'll tell you what, if you can figure out the song from the lyrics, you're tagged!
9. Any special note or drawings you do? I haven't really got any of those so I just left that blank.

Now, I have four outstanding blogs I want to recognize this week:

1. KarenG from Coming Down the Mountain had a wonderful post on Reasons for Rejection of a Partial where she lists reason that your manuscript might not be picked up for review by agent or publisher. Great post.

Also, she's hosting an amazing contest where writers get to submit the first three chapters from their manuscript. Allie Maldonado, submissions editor for WiDo Publishing, and Karen, will review them and pick three winners.

Daniel at Quick Writing Tips had a lovely post about How to Eliminate Sentence Clarity Error in Two Simple Steps. He takes an actual sentence from a published novel and shows how to make it clearer in two steps.

This man, DP Lyle, MD is amazing and so are his books.
He's won a Macavity Award and nominated for an Edgar® Award for his non-fiction books. He has worked with many novelists and with the writers of popular television shows such as Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Diagnosis Murder, and Monk.

As a mystery writer, I've read his books and believe them a necessary read.

Well, guess what, he's got a blog. And it's full of helpful information.

Janet Rudolph has listed the Top 100 Thrillers from NPR: Killer Thrillers What a list! Included is
1. The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris
5. In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote
8. And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie
20. Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier
63. Shogun, by James Clavell
and on of my favorites of all time, 80. The Brotherhood of the Rose, by David Morrell

Oh, I love The Brotherhood of the Rose! I first read it when I was WAY too young--probably 12 or 13. But it always stuck with me.

Summer, yeah, I read it really young too but it has stuck with me until today. That's good writing!
