    Very timely Clarissa as always. I didn't know LI or hardly any of Angela's. But I'm sure there are many more..:) I always thought ARC meant a dramatic moment in the WIP. Just like some people used to think LOL meant Lots of Love not LOL!

    I've been following you for a while but I'm not sure if I've commented. I'm a fellow crusader. Nice to 'meet' you.

    I knew the ones till NaNoWriMo, but the rest were all new to me. I better learn them fast, because the next book I intend to write is a CB.

    I can't believe how long it took me to figure out MC. I could not figure out why everyone were talking about motorcycles all the time...

    This is a most useful list, though many of these I have come to understand with time :)

    Several are new to me...But I'm still not sure what "Middle Grade" IS! What does that mean? It sounds like an awful way to describe your work. "Oh, it's middle grade."

    This is a great list. I've often wondered about some of the acronyms I read. Thanks!

    Michele, middle grade is the age group the book is designed for.

    Hi Clarissa,

    I'm stuck on my novel, you may have noticed :0) and thought the idea of having someone other than myself look at it a great idea.

    I write children's fiction and wondered if it would be all right to post the beginning to you?

    Kind regards, Carole. caroleannecarr.com

    Haven't come across LI before, nor had I seen IM like that before. SNI is another new one for me.

    lbdiamond said...

    Ha! This is a great list! It took me so long to figure these out when I first started. Like the other commentors, I didn't know LI either.

    MS = Manuscript

    ML = Midlist
    BL = Back-list

    And I feel like there's something obvious we're all forgetting. I'll probably remember it when I use it. lol

    @Michele - Middle grade is more or less between children's books and young adult books.
