Why oh why do we only get to pick ten? I mean, of all time? How can I possible limit it?
Well, I do.
Here's my list:
1) Lobo - Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend Why? My mum (a hippy) had this record and I used to listen to this song over and over and over. It brings back a lot of memories. This song and Peter, Paul and Mary.
2) Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven. This song makes me cry every time. Every time.
3) Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody. My favorite Karaoke song. I look and sound like an idiot but it's worth it.
4) In My Life - The Beatles. I especially love the middle.
5) What a Good Boy - The Barenaked Ladies. One of my favorite groups and my favorite song.
6) Storms In Africa - Enya. Fell in love with this song after watching Green Card and have loved it ever since.
7) I Think We're Alone Now - Tiffany. Oh come on, I'm an eighties child!
8) Ah, vous dirai-je, maman KV 265 - Mozart. Anything classical is beautiful. Love playing this one on the piano. Oh, and before you think I'm a piano prodigy, I only play the first variation really well.
9) West End Girls - Pet Shop Boys. My son hates this group.
10) Collide - Howie Day. I guess I should add something modern. I love Coldplay, Keane, Adele, James Morrison, Take That, O.A.R and even Mika.

Tears in Heaven is a beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteYour list was fun. And, you're right, this was impossible.
Have a delightful week, Clarissa. :)
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteI just found out about this bloghop. Sounds like a lot of fun. You gotta love Tiffany.
ReplyDeleteNow there's an eclectic list! I love anything Enya. I wanted to put her music on my list too but it's so hard to break it down to only 10.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list. I had considered a couple that you had. Showing my age, I think I'd opt for the Tommy James and the Shondells version of "I Think We're Alone".

ReplyDeleteI hates West End Girls when it came out. Now I love that song. Good to see a Beatles song. I almost include a couple. Great list!
ReplyDeleteLove your list! In My Life is my favorite Beatles song, and it's not on my list only because I forgot as I was typing the list up!
ReplyDelete*whispers* I came this close to adding Lost in Your Eyes by Debbie Gibson. I just couldn't bring myself to do it ;)
West End Girls is just another I forgot about or it may have made the list. I'm finding so many "long lost" songs out here!
I have to check out that Mozart variation >:)
ReplyDeleteCold As Heaven
Oh, I should have put Enya somwhere on my list. I have an entire Pandora station just for her...
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I now have West End Girls stuck in my head. :)
ReplyDeleteYour list demonstrates why I didn't participate in this blogfest. How can you choose? My mind was all over the page just thinking about all the songs I love. Great list.
ReplyDeleteThat Queen song is quite popular today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating!
Great list. There are some there I'd forgotten.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with being an 80's child! And there are some newer generation members who actually appreciate the music from back then, which is really awesome!
ReplyDeleteAny top ten that includes Queen is tops in my book. Great list, Clarissa!
ReplyDeleteI love that you mentioned your son hating Pet Shop Boys. Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteGreat list. When I lived in NYC, whenever I put the Pet Shop Boys on the jukebox, I got a free beer. :) It's a Sin.
ReplyDeletePet Shop Boys! :D Nice variety here. And I think the next blogfest should involve a video of you singing Karaoke! Come on, share. ;)
ReplyDeleteMozart--NICE!
ReplyDeleteLove Bohemian Rhapsody! :D
Tiffany!! I too am an 80's child. She and Debbie Gibson and Madonna were my idols, I swear. But I think my favorite Tiffany song was "Could've Been". I always was (and still am) a sucker for a nice break up ballad.
ReplyDeleteAw, Tiffany!! It would be a totally different list if I just did 80s music. I should have just done 80s music! Blast!!!
ReplyDeletegood stuff here! But Tiffani? C'mon, C~ :D <3
ReplyDeleteDarn you! Now I have "I think were're alone now" stuck in my head!
ReplyDeleteNice list!
YAY for Queen! This list is a little mellower than most of mine, but I really like all these songs.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great music!!
ReplyDeleteTiffany!!!! Love it!!!!! Gotta love the 80's!
ReplyDeletetears in heaven is so sad!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOUR CHOICES!!! Tears in Heaven, Queen, Beatles... can't go wrong. And Mozart. I'm gonna have to get the notes to that one...not that I'll ever manage to play it, lol

Some good choices. I enjoyed reading your list. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm not familiar with all these songs, thanks for introducing me. I appreciate it :)

There's such a rang one this list and I love how you put Tiffany on there!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I heart the 80's too, so liked your retro picks. Tears from HEaven is so beautiful and I cry when I hear it. And anything by the Beatles is a fave of mine.
ReplyDeleteBarenaked Ladies! Barenaked Ladies! Love them.
ReplyDeleteOf course I love your list ~ it's another collection of awesome 80's music!
ReplyDeleteAlmost included Tiffany. Almost. She was there until the bitter end! Great list!!
ReplyDelete10 just wasn't fair was it? Some more of my faves here - Queen, Beatles, Enya, Eric Clapton - so much great music!
ReplyDeleteI love the variety of your choices; Great list~
ReplyDeleteHey Clarissa - Tiffany. She had some fun songs. Do you remember the song she sang for The Jetsons movie? That one was good, too. =D
ReplyDeleteYou've got some of my favorites there, Clarissa. Eric, oh I cry too. The Beatles, My Life, and Out of Africa, I'm terrible at artist name. I can read it and a second later forget. I also love classical songs.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Nancy

Oh, wow. We definitely have similar tastes. And that Eric Clapton song always makes me cry. Awesome list!
ReplyDeleteYou picked my favourite Beatle's track, something by The Shoppies and I think we're alone now - some great tracks :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, Tiffany!! That brings back some memories - my cousins and I choreographed a dance to it way back when, lol. And I just did Bohemian Rhapsody "Rock Band" style this weekend with friends. Too fun! Thanks for sharing ~ :)
ReplyDeleteEnya is such great mood music--she's makes lovely music!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
Beatles and Queen and Eric Clapton! Excellent. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this. So fun and eclectic. So, many good tunes-tiffany, clapton, enya, the beatles and mozart! I might have to do this one day. Although, I feel like my top ten is always changing depending on my mood.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, "Tears In Heaven" is a sad but pretty one for sure.

"Tears" is a sniffler. I didn't go near the Beatles for my list-too hard to pick just one.
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with Queen!
I hit "post" too quickly...
ReplyDeleteTiffany recorded an awesome album in 2000 called "The Color of Silence." Very rock-oriented, and quite good.

I see some songs I like on here, and some I need to check out as I never remember hearing them before :D
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Love West End Girls!
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I love that Howie Day song.
ReplyDeleteTiffany - been forever since I heard her
ReplyDeleteI could be here all night listening to your choices. The only one I didn't know was Lobo. I'd love for you to post yourself singing Bohemian Rhapsody :) And I'm with you on anything piano music. I can't play at all, but if I had a wish, it would be to learn to be a pianist.
ReplyDelete.........dhole
Even though our lists are very different, it seems that our musical tastes are pretty similar. I love your list!
ReplyDeleteTiffany takes me back to 8th grade. I love it! Bohemian Rhapsody is still one of the best. I have not heard this Enya tune until now and it is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love that Tiffany made your list. I remember seeing her in a mall. Haha! That's great! I really enjoy Enya as well.
ReplyDeleteLove some of your choices, especially Queen and The Beatles!
ReplyDeleteHa! I loved your Bohemian Rhapsody and West End Girls picks
ReplyDeleteBohemian Rhapsody...ahh, now who can not like that song? The Beatles is legendary, and I love them too.

Man! Great list! I haven't listened (or thought much about) Tiffany in decades. What a great addition. All your choices are fantastic. Tears in Heaven...! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice choices. I especially love Bohemian Rhapsody, and almost anything by Enya.
ReplyDeleteIn My Life is a great song! They made us sing it one year in high school and even that couldn't ruin such a great song [g]
