Sierra's Writing Adventure handed me a really cool blog award! Write hard! Sierra's a microbiologist who also writes mysteries and thrillers. How cool is that! Be sure to check out her blog. She's a crusader and blogs really interesting things. Go click her follow button.
Now, I have a request.
Lately there have been multiple blogs about making blogging life easier for readers. Especially because of the Crusade and the coming A-Z Challenge. I have made some changes to make it easier for my readers: I put my follower button near the top, the comment button is at the bottom, the comment box opens in a new window. And, I'm trying to reply to each comment and visit the visiting blogs. I'm trying...
However, one request: When I visit your blog and leave a comment, please don't email me back a reply. I think they're sweet but they're really jamming up my email. Also, I don't really respond to them unless they have a question or request and I feel guilty about it. I hope I'm not offending anyone. Because I love all my followers.

Clarissa - Congratulations on that very, very well-deserved award! Woot woot!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on Write Hard! I love to come here because you always have the most interesting posts. Keep on Writing Hard and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've read this is the best way to set up the page. This is the way I do it. Also the window and comments at the end. Your layout and colors are perfect IMHO.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, except for the occasional email that addresses some personal question, we should leave comments on the blog post.
Yay, Clarissa! Now, write/edit HARD. You deserve this and every other blogger award.
Thank, Margot, Melissa, and Ann. I feel honored. I'm glad you like the layout, Ann.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteAnd I seem to get a lot of email replies as well. Thought it was just me.
I'm loving your new look. And I totally agree about the emails.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
Congrats on the award, Write On! Oh, I'm sure I'm guilty of that sorry. No offense taken, rock on, be cool and have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteJules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
Congrats, Clarissa,
ReplyDeleteLove the new look. Although you other was fun. But you're right about changing ... I did too.
There are just too many wonderful blogs and not enough time!
Michael
Thanks, guys.
ReplyDeleteJules, I feel so guilty when you send me those lovely emails because I don't get them until late and then sometimes I don't respond. But, I always know you read my comments because you're a wonderful blogger.
Congrats on the award!
ReplyDeleteDigging the new layout. Really is a lot easier now.
And that is why I don't reply to comments via mail.
:-)
I'm so with you on the email thing! I can't stand that!
ReplyDeleteAs one of the bloggers who has been doing an AWFUL job of responding and blogging in general, I really appreciate your effort. Especially on top of writing! The blog layout looks great...
But don't forget, people, you blog for YOU! People will adjust and people will follow. This is YOUR site so I say, do it your way. I'll keep coming :)
Michele
Congrats on that very cool award!
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog's new look!
You see and there's people who don't like to weed through all the comments on comments to get to the end.
ReplyDeleteI suggest if you don't like the emails back to remove it so no one can't respond via email.
I'll try to remember but when I see an email, I email back. It clears up the blog.
Congrats on the award! Yes, I hear you. I'm not so keen on the email response, either - I'm glad to hear there's someone else like me. It's nice, but... just not really necessary, you know?
ReplyDeletecongrats on the award, Clarissa, and yes, those e-mail replies are weird.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about this lately too--not responding via email. I love how you put it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award!
Congratulations on the award!
ReplyDeleteI like the new setup of your blog--it is a bit easier to comment now.
I don't usually respond to emails I get in response to comments, either. Sometimes I do, but certainly not a majority of the time.
Congratulations with your award!!! It's brilliant!!!
ReplyDeleteTake care
x
Thanks for the shout-out and the award was well deserved =) I really like the new layout as well - it is easy on the eyes and well organized.
ReplyDeleteI blogged about the email thing and only got one negative response. I really hate it when you have to look around for the comment section and it is in tiny text hidden at the bottom you have to scroll back to the top. I hate Word Verification with a vengeance also and i'm sure a lot of my comments aren't printed as I sometimes forget to scroll down - yet again - to see if WV has popped up. Grr. But I must move my followers section to the top. It keeps getting bumped downwards.

BTW congrats on the cool award and you do indeed Write Hard.
Hey Clarissa! Hope you've been well :)) I have the same angst when I get a sweet email from a blogger on whose site I commented. I want to converse with everyone, but there just isn't enough time. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the A-Z blogfest. Going to be a blast!
Have a great weekend :))
Love the look of the blog!! :) I don't send emails to my blog readers because a lot of people feel overwhelmed with emails as you do.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award too!
Congrats on the award! I like the layout you have now. It's clean and easy on the eyes, but still shows a lot of personality.
ReplyDeleteClarissa, I like the new look of your blog. Congrats on the award.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a good weekend.
Request noted. Congrats on the award!
ReplyDelete<3 Gina Blechman
Congrats on your award, and I do agree that the email replies can be an unecessarily long way of replying when people can just reply within their post itself. That's what I do.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's great that your comment button is at the bottom now. Makes things much easier.
Jai
I often wondered about the e-mail reply. Thanks for the input.
ReplyDeleteYou are outstanding!
Hi Clarissa, congrtats on the award - it's well deserved.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the issue of emails. They're for personal messages, not blog comment responses, and it helps the thread if the comments are visible, rather than hidden in emails somewhere.
Good job Clarissa.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I should think about putting the comment button at the bottom. It just looks nicer at the top.
I quite like getting reply emails sometimes. I get loads of mail, true, but this way I can stay in contact if there is a question.
I do feel guilty about not replying too, though.
Nahno ∗ McLein ™
congrats on your cool award.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the changes.
New follower from the crusade. I will try not to clog you up. Being clogged is not a good thing. :)
