C is for Clarkson

That's right, I said it, Jeremy Clarkson. I love that man. And James May. And the short one. But today is the letter C so it's Clarkson day.

Why do I love this guy?
Well, he's not afraid to speak his mind, he's completely politically incorrect, and he's funny too. I recently picked up his book on Kindle. It's a collection of his 'World According to Clarkson' from his Sunday Times weekly column. Laugh out loud! Rolling on the floor laughing! (I wish they would make acronyms for these expressions!)

For Crying Out Loud (v. 3)

I first started enjoying the wit of this man from watching Top Gear. I'm a Top Gear fanatic! I've seen every episode from 2002 (all 16 series including the specials--the Bolivia special is my favourite). Why!? Because I love cars. Oh, another C word.

Especially the...
*sigh*
and...

Fiesta being chased by baddies!
and this...

Oh wait, that's not a car. Never mind.

  1. can't say I agree on this one with you, Clarissa.
I would agree with most of British press which considers him a snobbish, rude, offensive and ignorant person. His rude, brutal and politically incorrect jokes on many poor nations around the world, which he uses in almost every show, is something I find highly disrespectful.

  3. Dez, yes. You're right. Recently he made a comment about Mexico that many here found offensive. I'm sorry if I offend you.

  4. OH no. Not my favourite geezer but I did see him in the flesh once at Holborn station!! Why he was using the tube I don;t know but there he was - over six feet tall with his tight jeans and curly hair. And yes, he looked most grumpy! LOL! Take care

  5. Clarkson is hilarious. My dad and I watch Top Gear. My favorite part is when celebrities come on to race the track. I drive stick, but can't imagine trying to drive one with everything set up for a British car. Good luck with the challenge.

  6. Hi,

Hee hee, his jokes tend a bit crappy. He's a complete tosser when it comes to driving cars. He has no conscience with regards fuel economy nor sense of green credentials. But, he's canny and has made pots of money out of being offensive, politically incorrect and a crashing bore! ;)

  9. Clarissa - What an interesting choice for "C!" I'm impressed that you chose "outside the box," so to speak.

  10. You MUST be a bloke in drag! I've never heard of any woman liking The Clarkson.

However, I agree with you; a very witty guy, and if he offends people occasionally, so bloody what!

  11. Loved this! We have watched Top Gear for years and Clarkson makes me laugh. Ticks me off sometimes too, but he makes me laugh.

  12. I can honestly say, I have never heard of him. He sounds like Archie Bunker from the 70's sitcom, All in the family. Although Archie was a complete bigot, he was endearing ... sometimes.

  13. I like him, too. Everyone is offended by something. If no one stood out we would be one boring bunch. I may not agree with him all the time but I believe in free speech.

  15. You're adorable! I don't know who this person is but I love that you have such a passion for someone and it makes me want to know more about this character... oh yes, research! This is when Google is my bestie.

  16. I like him, Clarissa. He's funny and says it the way we would all like to sometimes. Yes, he's offensive but most of the time he's just telling the truth and the truth hurts. His only downfall for me is the recent news that he's been cheating on his wife, which amazes me because he's not exactly a "looker". :-)

  17. I want his job! Get paid to drive a Bugatti - pure heaven. Dig Top Gear and watch it all the time.

  30. Oh yea, Clarissa. I forgot myself. Oh well, next time.

  31. I love Top Gear too! Love all three but they're getting too much exposure over in Oz with all their spin off shows (that'd be the other two, not that I minded tripping through France drinking wine with James May.)

Great to hear you're a fan.

Thanks for travelling to Columbia with me. D is for ...?

  37. As a family we love Top Gear! All three of them are such characters. I like James, how he drives like an old woman and Richard Hammond - the short one - is just so cocky. But I love how out spoken and politically incorrect Jeremy is.
The cars are pretty fantastic too!
Oh and Stig .... I'm a fan. Thanks for the great post.
