L is for Life

My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can.
Cary Grant

How do you view life? Do you plan or do you just take everyday as it comes? Do you worry about the future?

  1. Clarissa - What a great quote! And what a great choice for the letter "L!" Another one I love is this one from John Lennon: "Life is just what happens to you when you're busy doing other things."

  2. I like Grant's way of living. I plan some things, but I just enjoy most of it.

  3. You can never go wrong with a quote from Cary Grant. I usually just take it a day at a time with a little planning on the side.

  5. I seem to go with the flow whether I want to or not.

  6. I don't plan. My everyday goal is to try to touch as many people as possible in a positive way as much as I can, whether it's something small or something bigger.

  7. Love this quote, Clarissa.

I go with the flow most of the time. Sometimes I have to plan a bit ahead for outings with friends or vacations.

Lately it's editing and the A-Z challenge that occupies a lot of my time.

  8. I think it's a little of both. You have to find a happy medium. Awesome Cary Grant quote!

  9. Too much planning gets in the way of spontaneity.
I'll take a scoop of each please. Since worrying is not productive at all, leave it out :)

  10. Awesome quote from a fantastic actor! I'm a big fan of Cary Grant movies.

I'm a planner! But since my husband is more spontaneous, I think I live a pretty balanced life. Some planning is good for certain things, but the land of spontaneity is where imagination lives. :)

  11. I wish I could live like that. I'm constantly worrying about what I'm going to do and where I'm going and if I'm doing the right things.

  12. love the quote. i do a little of it all-plan, enjoy and worry. I try to keep the worry down, though.

  13. I like the quote, but it takes a bit more planning that for me.
I certainly try not to fill my days with anything negative, that's for sure.
    Food for though...

  14. I'm such a planner, but as odd as this is, having a plan helps me to be more flexible when crazy things come up. It's sort of a security thing I guess. Mostly I just make sure to find at least one thing (or many more) each day that make me happy.

I'm afraid I plan everything and worry about everything!

  17. It depends on the day. Sometimes I plan, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I stress, sometimes I don't.

I was once asked what my goals were, my reply was similiar to Grant's, When I get up in the morning I hope to make it through to the end of day with my sanity intact!

  18. What a succinct post Clarissa which says so much. I have a vague plan but I'm a great believer in plans are made to be changed - at the drop of a hat. I believe in making the most of every moment.

  19. I really should plan more, but it seems things happen while I'm not looking.

  20. Great quote!

Depends. Sometimes things just come as they come, and other things can by planned for . . .

  22. Love the quote. I'm a spur of the moment person. If I plan things they always go haywire.

  23. I like Cary Grant's philosophy and my schedule feels much like that most days. I plan when more specific planning seems necessary, like a trip. When I travel my schedule is often very meticulous. On most regular days I have a general plan in mind, but it often gets sidetracked.

  24. Great quote. I tend to have a loose plan for the day, but 'life' always throws things at me! As long as I get to read, write, hug my family and chat to a friend, my day's on track.

  25. I try to take it as it comes, but I worry anyway ;)

  26. I love this quote. I aspire to be a free spirit and take life as it comes, but in reality I'm a worry wart and a planner.

  27. I plan more on a long-term scale, and then just take things day by day as time goes on, all the while keeping the big picture in mind.

  28. I sort of plan, or more to the point I speculate/consider. I don't have everything planned, that's for sure.

  29. I plan. But I don't always end up following the plan.

  30. Stunning quote.

I worry a little, but mostly I just live from day to day.

  31. I prefer to go with the flow, but my schedule makes me fight the clock. Creates a lot of stress, LOL!

  32. Yes to Cary. I try always to focus on present. That doesn't mean I don't think about the future. Fact is, today is little more than the first step to tomorrow.

  33. Life is a great choice for "L"! My view is to take one day at a time and try to make the most of it. Looking ahead and planning is good, but not worrying, which does no good!

  34. I plan, plan, plan, overplan, and live that plan. Boy, it's getting boring! One of these days...

  35. In light of the recent deaths in my family, I no longer make detailed plans. I live each day as if it could be my last. I remember to tell people how much I love them, how sorry I am and that I forgive them
