A Productive Weekend

I love it when I'm productive! The last few days have been relatively calmish and I've gotten a lot of work done.

(1) I've written over 1000 words each day on my new Evans/Blackwell mystery series. I'm in love with this book... of course, I haven't edited it a billion times yet, it's still like watching the movie for the first time.

(2) I've finished reading three books from fellow bloggers (and should have the fourth finished today). I will be posting reviews later this week. Please note, although it looks like I have a lot of time now to read your books, I have non-blogging-reads to get done so I'm not adding to my list for a couple of weeks.

(3) And, I've completed a lot of my critiquing/reviewing work.

That's not to say I'm done but it's always nice to know you've knocked off a lot of your to-do list.

Also, I've gotten a couple of awards...

(a) Lady Gwen from Run Gwen, Run! Write Gwen, Write! has given me the Roaring Lion and World's Sweetest Blogger Awards. Gwen is holding a Judge and Jury blogfest and it has amazing prizes! If you haven't joined yet, go sign up. Who wouldn't want amazon give cards!?

(b) L.A Speedwing from A Blog about Writing, Arts and other Randomness... has given me The Versatile Blogger Award. Thank you! She's a new blogger with only a few followers, so go check her out!

Lastly, if you haven't signed up for the audio auditions, what are you waiting for? Go here!

What did you do this weekend?

Wow, you have been productive.

Nicely done with the 1,000 word workdays. That takes focus.

We have a couple of family birthdays this weeks and spent the weekend making arrangements and getting odds and ends.

Congrats on the awards and getting so much new writing done! It's fun when you're in a new book -- it's almost like when you first fall in love.

What a great weekend! It's so freeing and energizing to get into a new novel, I did that also this weekend. Well, not really, I just typed the handwritten draft into my laptop finally, so now I can start the real writing. And I finished my website! And started a Kindle book by a self-pubbed author that is REALLY good!!

Wow, you have had a great weekend! Mine was mostly about celebrating my eldest child's 9th birthday. I didn't do any writing at all but I did read quite a few blogs. I'm always catching up with my blog reading.

You sure were productive, Clarissa! Good for you! My weekends are usually for fun and games, so I don't do too much writing. Weekends are time for me to fill the well so I can approach the work week with fresh ideas!

I procrastinated a little bit on the writing front, although I did look at some critique notes for a work that is getting ever so closer towards the end of the revision process.

I'm reading five books right now from fellow bloggers. Two of them are really boring. I'm not sure if I should keep slogging through them or continue to read in the hopes that they get better. What gets me is that the two that are boring are over a thousand pages a piece. I don't understand why these self-pubbed things are such monstrosities.

Sounds like you got a whole lot of stuff done. Had to work Sunday, so didn't get much done. It's slowly creeping up on me - and I see this from your post too - that I'm not writing anything new and haven't in ages. I'm editing though, which helps me not to feel too guilty about slacking off.

Hi Clarissa. I'm back after an extended absence due to moving and packing and cleaning and internet problems. It is a great feeling to be finished with things.

Okay, I'm jealous. I was doing 1000 words a day for several weeks, and now I've hit a wall. I'm so close to the end...I feel like I going to pull my hair out.

It is so good to hear you have been busy (as you seem to thrive on it) :D

I have suffered from a flu, but I expect I´ll go back to work tomorrow. Annoyingly being off sick for a teacher always means you have twice as much to do when you return so no writing time for me these days.

As I have mentioned earlier, I am not going to offer reading anything in my Danish accent, but I wondered if I could help authors who need cover photos? I have some sinister windows, castle ruins, nature, snow etc.
