WOOT for Kindle!

My husband's favourite site in the whole world is Woot. What's Woot? Everyday one item is sold at a super price. I swear he buys from there almost everyday.

Well, Kindle has a kinda Woot thing going on. It's called The Kindle Daily Deal. Have you heard of it? One book ridiculously reduced for one day. How cool is that!? Here's an example from today:
Kindle Daily Deal: Farewell
In Farewell, Sergei Kostin and Eric Raynaud document the strange and historically significant story of Vladimir Ippolitovitch Vetrov, a promising technical student turned KGB spy whose life helped hasten the fall of the Soviet Union.
Yesterday's Price: $7.99
Today's Discount: $7.00
Kindle Daily Deal Price: $0.99(88% off)

Today's selection might not be your cup of tea but there's always tomorrow... Also, check out the free copies of The Poems of Walt Whitman and Even More Poems by Walt Whitman.
They're free...who doesn't like free?

Don't forget: WAVE auditions are coming into my mail box and I would love to add your file to my collection. Get talking! It's only a few minutes of your life for a great cause.

What are wave auditions? I wish I had a kindle. Right now I'm reading ebooks off my laptop, which hurts my eyes. And I haven't been good at your murder mystery club. In fact I've been awful. Clarissa, I'm so sorry.

I have no idea how to submit a voice recording. Sorry. Don't think I have a microphone in my computer.

I'm awaiting Amazon's tablet, which should be announced in about fifteen minutes. For 250 it may be the best eReader out there. We'll see how it stacks up to the iPad.

I can't believe you can get on Woot from Kindle! I also can't believe that you can now play games on it, so now what was just for reading is going to be shopping and game playing? I find that disturbing. Once again reading takes a back seat to all the other online temptations.

Sigh... first, I want a kindle. Maybe I should check out Woot. ^_^

No e-readers for me yet. These days everything is spend on food, shelter, and the other necessities of living in the city. Someday I might get one. Maybe after I finish reading all of the unread books in my house. Okay, maybe I won't get an e-reader.

Gotta say, I love my kindle and I get notifications of special kindle deals. Love it.

I've done some audio work, but not in a long time, Clarissa. I'd need to get a new mic. Mine bit the dust. I'll look into it.

Thanks for the links Clarissa.

I am waiting until the weekend to experiment with my audition. I hope I can figure out how to record and send. I thinks this is a great cause and I would like to be involved.

The kindle thing is taunting me. Just came over from Matt's blog and the subject was techno stuff. Just my luck for my kindle to break down before giving me any real service. Working on fixing that though.

Have to look if I find a mic.

Free books?

Clarissa, I am doing all I can to keep my TBR in control, but I can´t say my blog friends are very helpful! ;)

Isn't "w00t" and exclaimation of joy/victory?

Also, all my blog posts are about real events that have happened to me. That being said, I could always improve on my writing so if I feel uncertain about a post I'll ask for opinions.

I need to check out the kindle daily deals more often! Great discount.

I don't have a kindle, so woot's not for me. But I do have a Kobo and I'm gong to check out Walt Whitman. I've certainly heard of the man, but never read a word. If I can get him for free, then I have no excuse!

Regards the W.A.V.E. auditions, I will be recording and emailing my sub this weekend. :)

How neat. I guess I'm gonna have to break down and get a Kindle. I just worry it will hurt my eyes like a computer screen does.
