Swan Lake, New Notebooks & Auditions are coming in!

Over the weekend, I went to see my first ballet: Swan Lake. I've always wanted to go but have been too afraid of the crowds. Well, I sucked it up and went anyway...and, impressive. Brilliant. Can I subscribe to the ballet now?

Also, I splurged and bought two notebooks from moleskine. What a lovely site that is. Buying notebooks is like a drug for me and I'm addicted. I bought the London notebook and the 2012 mini daily planner. I'm super excited to receive it in the post.

Also, auditions are rolling in. How are yours coming along? Check out our first three voice samples.

To audition go here. So, what's new with you?

  1. Clarissa - I'm so very glad you enjoyed the ballet! My first experience with the ballet was The Nutcracker Suite and I still remember it many years later...

And those notebooks sound lovely! I think for the sake of my budget I'll have to stay away from that site though ;-).

  2. DL has a great voice. And Mason's has so much personality!
And the ballet wouldn't be my thing, but I do enjoy plays.

  3. I've always wanted to see Swan Lake. I grew up going to the Nutcracker every year, and I miss it (somehow, as the only female in my house, the ballet just doesn't happen any more).

I'm with Margot on the notebooks. They are beautiful, but I think I'd better avoid them, at least while I invest in our landscaping project. :)

  4. ah, for a second I thought we are having ballet auditions. Contrary to popular opinion I really don't look good in a tutu!

  5. The ballet is brilliant and everyone should experience it at least once in their lifetime. I'm thrilled you enjoyed it.

And what's up with these auditions? What did I miss?!!

  6. Hi Clarissa .. I can believe that you must have been enthralled at The Ballet .. I haven't been for years and really should go again ..

I love ballet music .. and the dreams we can weave in it ..

Moleskin notebooks - yay - fun and a joy ..

The three speakers are all good - with such different accents .. so interesting - I'm sure suited to differing works.

I will have to sort mine out .. cheers Hilary

  9. I can't wait to listen to the voices when I get home (am at work at the moment! Yay!!!!).

Ballet is beautiful - but what astounded me when I first went to see a show was how the dancers land with an oomph as in I could hear them land!! I always thought they were completely light and airy!!

    Take care

  10. Have you ever seen Black Swan? I watched it this weekend. Natalie Portman is the "Swan Queen".

  11. I haven't seen the ballet for years. I really must go again soon. I love it. It has a magic all its own. So glad you enjoyed it.

Oh, notebooks. I can't resist them. I have drawers filled with beautiful notebooks that are far too good to use. I'm an addict. :)

I'm so jealous of your notebooks...

  13. You know, the fact that crowds would be a reason to avoid the ballet altogether has never been a problem I would associate with attending such a function. That's my life lesson for the day.

  14. Clarissa, How wonderful. All three readers sound so wonderful.

I am crazy over notebooks of any kind and must admit, I have a problem. I buy them all the time.

  17. I love the ballet. I've been fortunate to have been a few times.

The voice thingy project is cool. I have to go read up about it.

PS: I changed my URL and username back to southpaw, but managed to mess up my feeds.

  18. oh, yes. I love the ballet. I have to confess, the first year my two little girls were mice in the Nutcracker, I cried. Yep. Mice. ;p

As for those readings, WOW! Somehow I missed this, but DL = the voice of home for me as well as Mason! Love that touch of southern accent. Fun stuff~ :o)

  19. I haven't been to a ballet in years, but they are very enjoyable.

I have a thing for office products and am always on the lookout for journals. I snap them up on sale.

Great on the auditions. Hope you get lots more.

  20. Despite being a ballet dancer, I haven't actually seen a ballet in years . . . the last one I saw was The Nutcracker, which I was in. :P

  24. I took my daughter to Swan Lake last year. It was the first time for both of us and it was awesome!
I really want to see The Nutcracker next.
I gave my son a Moleskine Rome notebook for his trip and it was so useful. Are you planning a trip to London?

  26. Glad you had fun at the ballet.

On your voices, all were good, but I am partial to Southern readers so #3 was my fav.

  27. Glad you got to see Swan Lake! Nothing like seeing a ballet in the theatre instead of on TV!

  28. Nice to hear you enjoyed the ballet. I've never fancied it but I think I should give it a go nevertheless, to see if I really don't like it or not.

  32. Those wave files are great. The reading is done so well.
I don't think I've ever seen a ballet live. An opera, yes, but not a ballet.

  33. Doing the reading was so much fun. I can't wait to get rolling with the real thing. I think you've struck gold with this concept!
